COMPOSTABLE PRODUCTS

Refresh Packaging options

We’re currently updating our growing list of compostable and recyclable packaging products, adding new options. Until these opportunities are available to read about, check out our catalogue.

Our bags are the perfect source to create a private labelled compostable pet waste bag for your business. We will take care of everything. Tell us what you want and we will even help you with the packaging.

Our expertise in marketing will also give you that edge when it comes to positioning your product to stand out amongst your competition.

The best part is our products are fully customizable, including the 4 colour printing, so we can help you produce smaller single-use bags for Fido’s walks, or anything up to yard waste size bags for the larger end-of-the-winter frozen surprises Fido left all over the back yard. Let’s work together to keep all organic waste out of the landfills and compost it instead. Our bags will take the pain out of being gentle to the environment.

Colours:

They come in 2 resin colours, first being a neutral light beige that allows all your printing to stand out nicely and supports any brand. The second colour is a light green making it clear they are compostable.

Ink colours are not restricted as they are soy-based but there is a maximum of 4 colours that can be printed on the bags.

Shelf Life:

These bags have the same shelf-life as other products which is 12-months. This is an important validator to their ability to breakdown. They are not meant to last forever. So we work closely with you to ensure you have the right number of bags you need at their peak quality.

Strength:

Bags like these have a reputation to not be very strong, to begin with. However, our bags are more reliable than most traditional bag options since they come from a different source material giving them more elasticity.  Depending on the size and thickness of the bag you want to be produced will determine how much weight they can hold. They are strong and if you really need to haul something heavy, we can make it happen.

Certified Compostable:

So what does it mean exactly to be certified compostable? It means our bags have been tested by the BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) which is an external organization that verifies how our products meet their requirements and are true to what we say.  This is the regulatory body that completes rigorous testing on our products and others to ensure they are safe to be used in composting and will not add any harmful chemicals to the natural process.

Not all products are equal and without the BPI certification products are not verified to be safe for compost facilities or your backyard compost. Compostable bags biodegrade, but biodegradable bags without BPI approval are not compostable.

If you are a business that would like to order a branded bag for your customers we can help. We can create the size you want with the branding you need. We can print up to 4 colours and produce high volume numbers depending on your consumption.

There is a minimum order of 50,000 bags which averages out to be about 100 cases that need to be ordered but we take care of all the details for you. Of course, case qty will depend on the size of the bag. Some bags may also come in a roll as well.

No need to compromise on quality and no need to spend more money on expensive paper or multi-use options.

We will even help support you with our creative and help you promote the product with our marketing expertise. We want these products to be an asset to your business and help build customer loyalty as well as create a better world for everyone.

Tell Us What We Can Build for You.

When ordering our stock bags, you can have them very quickly as we keep them here ready to be ordered. Perfect for a business that needs a smaller volume.

When ordering custom bags, the first order takes the longest as we need to build the plates and get everything set up for you. Delivery is usually within 13-15 weeks. But we are flexible on where they need to go and will do what we can to help you get them there.

If you currently work with a distribution company, we will do what we can to build a relationship with them and keep your supply chain as simple and smooth as possible.

They are made from natural renewable resources, in our case they are corn-based. And since they are made from organic material themselves they respond the same way organic material responds in the decomposition process.

How Composting Works.

Just like your typical organic waste, decomposition is taken care of by bacteria that break it down and essentially eat it for their own food source. What is left behind is waste the bacteria expels which is often the nutrients that can not be consumed by the bacteria. This nutrient-rich by-product is what has been used as healthy soil additives for ages.

In fact, there is evidence composting practices were used over 10,000 years ago in different parts of the world. There’s even evidence of composting methods being used by King Sargon during the Akkadian Dynasty, which lasted about 160 years between 2320 BC and 2120 BC. So composting is not a new concept. We are just getting smart and going back to some effective proven natural methods of enhancing our soil nutrients and dealing with waste.

Because our products are made from organic material or bioplastics, they too breakdown just like organic waste does when exposed to the same conditions. Bacteria is key to the fast breakdown of any organic material and are essential for our products as well. But when placed in a composting facility or combined with home composting, they typically break down within 8-16 weeks depending on how much bacteria is present, moisture and temperature. The decomposition of our products can even happen between 6-10 weeks when the conditions are ideal and there are other organic materials present with the products.

But the number 1 thing to remember is when they do breakdown, they leave nothing harmful behind. No micro-plastics are leached into the environment like other bags that claim to be eco-friendly such as biodegradable and oxo-degradable bags. That is why compostable products are revolutionary in our fight against harmful plastics but yet allow us to still have the convenience we have come to enjoy in our everyday life.
