Good bags, but a slightly different shape, and feel than what I’m used to.The first thing that interest me about these bags is that they are certified compostable, which is great, because they go in my green bin and so this should make them a little more environmentally friendly. In terms of the size of the rolls, it is very standard roll length and circumference, so it fit perfectly into my older roll containers.
Because these are compostable, the bags have a very different feel from what I’m used to. They’re a lot softer and have almost a creamy texture if that makes sense. They’re thinner than some of the other poop bags that I used, but even though they’re thin, they seem to be fairly strong.
The shape of the bag is also slightly different than what I’m used to. They are pinched at the bottom, not a flat seam. They also seem longer than a standard bag, and they have handles. These bags are not small and I have no issues getting my hand into them and using them, but the dimensions are a little bit different. I would say the length of these is a bonus because you’ve got more area to tie the knot.
Overall, I think these bags are a great value, and very usable, and better for the environment than the conventional type!

Bigger than average bags, handles for tying up are great. Bags are larger than average and the ties are very handy. They are about average thickness, and the material is a little slippery. I was able to pick up multiple poops with some loose stone mixed it, did not tear or leak. Found them to be a little expensive for the quantity, not sure it’s worth the extra cost for compostable bags.

Good Value?
At around 12.5 cents per bag (at the time of review), they are more than double what I pay for Amazon Basics bags. To be fair, the smallest quantity of Amazon Basics bags is 270, so I am benefitting from 1) buying a larger number than 120, and 2) the fact that “biodegradable” plastic is much cheaper than compostable plastic.
When compared to the price of other compostable bags in 120 counts, the price is competitive and in the same ballpark. So while they may not seem to be a good deal in terms of poop bags in general, as far as **compostable** poop bags go, these bags are a good value.

Love that these are compostable! We are on septic, and so we make a very conscientious effort not to dispose of anything down our toilets other than waste and toilet paper, but it poses a challenge with what to do with all the feminine products we have to dispose of. I hated having to use plastic bags because of the amount of waste it produces, so I was really happy to find these bags that would work for our needs! We also have baby diapers to dispose of as well.
We got a little bag dispenser, filled it with these bags, and leave it in our bathroom so that feminine products and also baby diapers can be easily placed into the bags, tied up and disposed of in our household garbage.
The bags contain odors even with stinky diapers tied up in the bags, and they hold the heaviest soaked items well.
I have not tried them in our household compost as we are disposing of non-compostable items in them, but I feel better knowing I’m not adding extra plastic to our waste in addition to the non-compostable items.
The 2 pack of 60, totalling 120, should last a long time. Note that it states the bags should be left in a cool, dry area and that they will not last forever (which kind of makes sense, since they are meant to break down over time!).
Overall a great product, and decently priced. Perfect for our needs!

eco friendly but not exactly wallet friendly. These compostable poop bags from Refresh Packaging comes in a 2 pack of 60 bags each. The bags are 16 * 9 inches which is adequate for even larger dogs. These bags are more ecofriendly when compared to plain plastic ones. These bags has cut out handles which is nice but does decrease the maximum somewhat. The current price of $15 CAD is much higher than regular bags but you already know that the ecofriendly does not mean wallet friendly.

We don’t have a dog but we do compost daily and I go through a lot of bags in the process. When I saw these bags I thought they’d be perfect for small jobs like potato peelings when I make supper, or cleaning out the fruit bowl.
These bags are actually smaller than I expected. If you had a large dog (we have had dogs) I think they could be challenging at times. But for what I wanted, they’ve been working really well. I use one of these bags for a quick collection then I toss these small bags into a large one that gets taken out once a week. Being able to tie them has really helped with keeping odors down and the handles make them easy to use.
I like these bags and I appreciate that they compost so quickly. When you do compost, that’s important. I think they’re slightly expensive but they’re quality bags and the quick composting time, for me, makes them worth it.

The bag itself is reasonably sturdy, and was able to carry a rather heavy load at near full capacity. The bottom is shaped in such a way that it gets extra layering, ensuring you won’t get a sudden surprise landing on your shoes.
And the composability means you can toss this in the green bin guilt-free, and it’s the perfect size for a single load so you don’t have to use more plastic than necessary.
As the shape is rather narrow, it’s great for wearing around the hand when picking things up.
However, I would not really recommend this for cat litter as the listing suggested; the shape makes it tricky to fit a typically sized litter scooper; although it’d be easier if you happened to have a tall-shaped bin for it.

I appreciate that they are compostable bags, but I will skip that part as that was not my priority.
As “poop bags” for my dog, I liked them. Aside from the extra benefit of being compostable bags, their material is not weak. I had some other bags that were great, but would easily tear while you are trying to get one. These seem fine in strength.
The size is different from what I am used to using for poop bags. It feels narrower and longer than others. It feels a bit awkward, but it does not affect its function and use. Another difference is that they have handles. Although that is a feature I will probably not use, it might appeal to others for easier and more isolated carrying. For me, the handles help determining which way the bags open. With other bags, it is sometimes confusing to figure out which side opens; with these, the handles tip you off. In addition, the material is not slippery so that also helps with opening the bags. With some other bags with slippery materials, I can spend minutes trying to open a single bag.

I use these waste bags for my cat when I clean his litter box. They are somewhat thin yet surprisingly durable. They don’t rip or break when using even when loading them close to full. They also seal the smell very well. Better than some other bags albeit they have no own scent in my opinion.
They are compostable which is great for pet owners. However, the price is expensive. I get 100 non-compostable bags for $2 at the Dollar Store so $8 for 60 is really expensive. The quality is great though.

Large and Definitely Durable. We have 2 large dogs and one small puppy- we see a LOT of poo in a day. One of our dogs is 155 lbs, the other large dog is 82 lbs- so its a lot of large poo. I have never had to use 2 of these bags for a pile of poo. To make matters worse, we recently tried all of our pups on a new organic dog treat that they all reacted poorly to. All 3 of them got a bad case of diarrhea. Outside our house I dilute the messes with water- but out on a walk there was simply too much gloopy poo and not enough water for it all. Not wanting to leave pudding poo piles around the neighborhood- I would try to scoop up what I could and kick what little snow there was over the rest. These large bags completely covered my hand and were thick and durable enough to be carried to the nearest trash can- with no holes, rips or leaks. That’s impressive. We’re mostly through both packages now, and I’ve yet to find a defective bag in the lot of them. We usually use dollar store bags which are thin and frequently contain defects. Whenever I’m in doubt I double bag those ones. The difference in quality between dollar store bags and these is glaringly apparent- and I couldn’t be more relieved that I had the Refresh bags on hand during our diarrhea disaster. I recommend this product.

Strong Compostable Pet Waste Bags. To start, I love that the bags are compostable. Constantly trying to be more environmentally friendly, so seeing this as an option was great to see! Always do my best to do my part in helping the earth.
The bags are a little bit on the thinner side which I assume has to do with it’s compostable nature which I’m completely fine with. And I’ve had no issue so far in picking up any poop my dogs have done. It does exactly what it needs to do; be a strong enough bag to pick up and hold the poop securely until I get to the proper bin to dispose of it.
In terms of price, it is a little pricier but I’m okay with that as the bags are compostable and more environmentally friendly. And the more people that invest in these kinds of options, the cheaper these options will become. Overall, I highly recommend these bags for pet waste and you’re helping the planet a bit by being more environmentally friendly even if it’s just a small amount.

Sturdy bags that are still compostable. These compostable poop bags are pretty good if you are a (responsible) dog owner who picks up after your pet. They are sturdy and I haven’t had any blowouts with them as of yet. I have actually tried using a different compostable bag before and they were so thin and the seams would blow out unexpectedly, which can end up being a very shitty situation 😉 . These are much sturdier which is great.
The sizing of them is a little different than the norm, as in they are slightly narrower and longer. They also have “handles” which I guess helps to tie up the bag after it’s been used.
Also a note, check with your local city/municipality’s composting rules and regulations on if these particular bags can actually be composted in your green bin (either the bags them selves or with waste in them) some places don’t allow animal waste to be disposed of in your green cart bin. So just something to be mindful of.

Handles make for easy carrying, tying shut. I use these out camping to clean my cat’s litter, so its a hold open and scoop situation. I tried them at home in my compost container for the purpose of trial before the camping season starts. They do not compose too quickly, which is a good thing – I got three day’s ‘presents’ loaded inside, and the bottom was still strong, but I wouldn’t have wanted to test it for too long! So the breakdown period is probably good, and I loaded the bag heavily. The handles are really nice for tying the bag shut and having a loop for your finger while carrying the bag to the compost bin. If you had a dog and were using the bag as a glove to pick up, I’d just be sure that the handles were out of the way to keep them clean until you pulled the bag inside out to tie. The bags pull off the roll really nicely, and the handles give a ‘tail’ to grab onto to get the roll moving. Recommended.

Big, strong durable bags, but at a big premium. There’s several things I like about these Refresh Packaging pet compost waste bags.
First is the size, they are much larger than the bags I usually use.
Second the handles are great especially when comes time to tie up the bag.
Another reason I like the handles is because it makes opening the bags so much easier, I often spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out which side the opening is on my other bags.
They also seem much easier to open.
They are also strong and durable but also compostable.
They are great dog poop bags, but the value is just not good for me, they are 6.5 times more expensive than my usual poop bags. At twice the price of my usual bags I would change for these Refresh Packaging ones, but at 6.5 times it’s just too great of a difference even if I like them a lot.

My intention for these were to use them for scooping up cat litter for the garbage.
They are smaller than I expected in width. They are pretty much long and narrow which makes it a little bit harder to get litter into the bags, especially if it’s big clumps. If you’re going to use it for litter it’s more something that you’re going to be using several times throughout the day if you have multiple cats and likely once a day if you have 1 cat which is typical. Sometimes I go every 2 or 3 days for cleaning because I have multiple litter boxes that my cats use.
The bags do seem to be really durable for something that is compostable. I thought they would be a lot thinner but they do seem like they would be able to hold up to a lot.
I’m not sure I would get the size again for litter but it does seem like it would be the perfect type of bag for dog poop even though it is pretty long in that sense too but seems more suitable for that.
I can’t really knock it for anything because it is living up to its claims, I just wish it was wider.

These are perfect for Puggle poops.
I usually carry a plastic produce bag in my pocket and they really aren’t thick enough to be much fun to carry back home when they are full.
These are fantastic! They are smaller than the produce bags but have an almost rubber-like feel and I don’t worry about them ripping or perhaps having small tears in them already.
They hold the doggie waste perfectly with easy to tie handles too.
I have also used these for used cat litter. They work a little less well just because my scoop is quite large and the bags aren’t quite wide enough for me to easily get the scoop all the way in without spilling. But I fill the bag over the litter box so it’s less of an issue.

A decent way to deal with pellet litter. Having used wood pellets for my litter for some time now, even with the sifting box and a scoop with large holes in it, it can be a pain to deal with the feces, especially when my little furball has gotten in to something he shouldn’t have and his bowel movements aren’t quite solid.
These bags make it super easy to just pick it up like you would with a dog’s while taking them out on a walk.
The bags are great quality and hold up well so no worries about accidentally touching things you’d rather not, and they can be easily tied off before disposing of them.
Also as I understand it, pellet litter can be added to your compost pile when used for non-food planting, and I’m planning on doing just that with my litter once the weather warms up and I get my composter set up, these bags should be fantastic for that given they’re biodegradable, so I can reduce the amount of stuff I have to take to the dump even further.

I didn’t find these bags to be larger than others out there. They might be a bit taller, but actually appear to not be as wide. I think the handles just make them look bigger. I found them to be quite thin as well, and hard to unfold and open while on the go. I have resorted to unfolding and opening them before I leave the house and sticking the bags in my pocket, instead.
Maybe I just don’t have the knack for handled bags, but I find the waste can sometimes get on the handles when picking it up, and on windy days, the handles blow about like two streamers. I also didn’t find any advantage when it came to tying the bags, as to tie it securely, I still had to twist the bag and tie it below the handles, just like those without handles. If anything, getting the two handles through the loop made it more difficult than bags without.
If you want pet waste bags that have handles, these will work for you, but I think I’ll stick with my big box of $3 dollar store ones that are a good size and good quality.

I like that they’re compostable (even though my litter might not be!) so it’s one less plastic item I’m throwing out every week. They’re decent quality and you get a fair number of bags, but the cost per box isn’t amazing… Worth a shot if you’re hoping to minimize your eco footprint like I am, though!

Good value; durable; compostable. Now that our municipality will finally be allowing pet waste collection in green bins, it makes sense to use compostable bags.
Packaged much like regular dog poop bags, these come in rolls that are sized to fit various poop bag holders and dog treat bags.
These bags have handles, which I find makes them easier to tie up.
Being compostable, I always worry about it being weak or rip, but these have been holding up just fine after a few months of using them.
At under $15 for 120 bags, I think they offer a pretty good value for biodegradable bags.
